Refried Beans Recipe

These are what the refried beans are supposed to look like, more or less. I think I added too much oil this time.

Ingredients:

  • Pot of cooked beans with bean juice inside
  • Cooking pan
  • Cooking oil

Steps:

  1. Get cooking pan
  2. Put medium heat on stove
  3. Make sure pan is hot and ready (sprinkle water on pan and if the water evaporates, it's ready)
  4. Add enough oil to coat the pan
  5. Wait a couple of seconds for oil to heat up
  6. Put spoonfuls of cooked beans without water into pan
  7. Add enough bean juice to coat the beans
  8. Smash the beans with the bean masher
  9. If it looks too dry, add more bean juice. If it looks too wet, add more beans without bean juice.
  10. Turn off heat


Pinto Beans Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of pinto beans, or the amount of beans that fit halfway in the saucepan
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • Water
  • Saucepan

Steps:

  1. Clean beans in a water filled pot and take out loose flakes and rocks
  2. Replace water (enough water to cover beans)
  3. (Optional) Put half of an onion in the pot
  4. Put medium heat on the stove
  5. When water gets low add more water
  6. When the beans start to look cooked, but not completely cooked, add salt
  7. Keep letting it boil
  8. Make sure beans are soft before turning off the heat
  9. Move beans around then taste beans for softness and taste bean juice for flavor. According to taste, add salt.
